About Us - 1980-2002

The seeds of the company were formed in the 1980's when Roy Stewart retired and took up the wonderful game of golf.

 

Almost immediately, Roy (a life long engineer) started thinking that there were many areas of the game that could be improved, not least the way that golf clubs were transported around the course. Initial concepts were sketched and developed over a number of years, but Roy enjoyed his retirement too much to start a new business.

 

Fast forward to 1999. Roy, Ross (his son) & Mark (his grandson) revisit the concepts and decide to take them further. Very quickly, two more talented design engineers (David Funnell & Jon Miller) join the newly formed Stewart Concepts Limited and development accelerates.

 

Several exciting product ideas are generated and after much deliberation, the concept for a totally new powered trolley is chosen to take to the market.
